just thought i would share this and see what everybody thinks If you search the Internet you'll find a number of web sites referring to budgie-nesting materials. The fact is that budgies don't use nesting material. Sure, [glow=orange,2,300]"" you can crush a Eucalyptus leaf and put it in the nest-box once week to control mites "" [/glow]but, apart from that, your budgie needs nothing else. this information comes from www.budgieworld.net/nesting_materials.htmregards bill

What the article says is correct Bill, Budgies don't use nesting material in fact Budgie nesting boxes have a depression in them so then hen lays the eggs in the depression and sits on them.
Over the years that I have bred Budgies, and at one stage I had well over 100 breeding birds, I never had nesting material in any of the nesting boxes and I can honestly say that I don't know of one breeder that uses it.
