Sam, my Nan's canary that was bequeathed to me before she died, has left us to join her. I think he was about 9 years old. My dad tried to say that he was my bird, but he never was. He was always Nan's. I just looked after him when she couldn't.

I am heartbroken. It feels like I have lost Nan all over again. But now she has her Sam with her again. And he had a good life while he was with me.

Fly free Sam. I'll miss you.

I want to come back as an animal with an owner like me!
