I have me seed in a 5 litre Wine bottle hanging from the roof.
The Lovebirds get in the seed container and spill it all over the bottom of the aviary.Im going through the 5 litre container ever 3 days hence im sure 4 Lovebirds shouldnt be eating this much. The lip on the bottom of the seed container is about 1cm high.
Wondering what you use for a Seed Container ?

I've always used the green & white bird feeders - you can see the range at www.shoof.com.au/auscatalogue/page_76.pdfWith lovebirds and other small parrots I would recommend the versions with covers to stop the bird trying to get in through the top to try to nest. The 1.5kg size would hold around 2 litres and last 2 pairs of lovebirds at least a week. Each day I would give them a bit of a sidewards shake to get the husks to the top and blow the husks off. In some ways the 3 kg is better since it has small arms that are around the bottom and stop much of the flicking of seed that leads to a lot of wastage. In your case, the 3kg holds around 4 litres and should certainly last a fortnight. Most pet shops that deal in birds sell them, as do many produce stores. cheers, Mike

One of my flights has a seed hopper with a catcher. It holds about 3 kg of seed but I only put in about 1kg at a time. There are 3 pairs and it lasts over a week. Sometimes when the catcher is has no rubbish in there I recycle the good seed by re-using it. Another flight has a dish about 300x150x60mm deep. I fill it with seed about 3cm deep and don't re-fill it till it's completey empty so the birds eat all the seeds not just their favourite. It lasts at least a week, maybe more and that's with 8 young in the nest atm. They do get a lot of other food as well though, not just seed.
