I do have it on hand but rarely use it. If you feed your birds a well balanced diet with lots of greens there is no need for supps such as vitamins. About the only extra i would give my birds is calcium during breeding & feeding young.

Like Robyn, I rarely use vitamin supplements, just calcium at breeding time. It is easy to overdose a bird with vitamins and I would only use it with a bird that was eating only seed and refused to eat veggies.
Ornithon has been around for a very long time, but there is no basis to prefer one above another. All are similar in composition, with minor variations, but since all are based on guesswork - extrapolated form chicken dietary research - it doesn't really matter which is used. There is no research on the detailed vitamin and mineral needs of parrots. If you are going to use one just get the one representing best value.
On top of that, giving a supplement via water or sprinkling over food, is very hit or miss. Some days the bird will hardly drink any water if it is cool and raining, others days it is hot and dry and thirsty. Somtimes it eats a lot of moist fruit and veggies and so needs less water, other days more seed so needs more water.
And if you feed pellets then they contain vitamins and minerals and adding supplements brings the real risk of overdosing.
cheers,
Mike

thanks to all the replies... I just bought some lovebirds and they are not used to eating vegies, eggfood, just seed diet only that's why I decided to give them vitamins until they learn how to eat vegies, and eggfood.
The plan is to give them vitamins 2x a week so they won't be overdose.

I have them on hand but as said so long as the birds are eating a variety of different food the only supp mine get is Calcium x 1 week when not breeding .
Cant hurt to give them some until you get them on a varied diet maybe not made up to full strength .
Too many supplements can be as bad as not enough sometimes with their little organs , dont want them working too hard to process all these artificial vitamins .

I use Ornithon on a regular basis along with calcium syrup (Calcivet)
I use one every second day sprinkled on the fruit/veg/soaked seed mix. So they get ornithon one day, nothing the next, calcivet the next, nothing the next etc.
I have not had any problems with my routine, but that is my opinion. I would not be without some form of vitamin supplementation. You cannot provide everything as nature intended with your feeding program so vitamin supplements I feel have their place in aviculture.
I use this with Natives, Cockatoos, and exotics.
