Hi everyone i think Jazz my 9 month old sun conure has a infection, His skin feels very hot to the touch and he has sneezed once so far, It was a wet sneeze too. The vets here no nothing about birds, so its pointless to take him to the vets. I've only heard him sneeze once so i will keep an eye on him. He is noiser then normal but I don't know if that means anything. My birds are kept outside under cover on a varander, They get covered each night and Jazz and Mojo have a happy hut which they sleep in, So i would say there quite warm. I could be probably over reacting too, Maybe he felt hot to me cause he was happy i was patting him. He seems happy enough and is eatting and drinking, His weight seems good. I will keep an eye on him if worst comes to worse i will take him to the vets.

I know nothing about sneezing in birds, so I'm sorry I have no advice.
If you ring your local vet surgery, they may be able to recommend an Avian vet for you. That's how I found my Avian Vet. The local vet told me of a few that he recommended.

As long as he is acting normally, eating well and not losing any weight then it is likely not something to worry about. Birds will sneeze at times - they get dust up their sinuses the same as we do and sneeze to clear it out. Their sinuses also are normally producing mucus even when healthy. They can't blow their nose like we can and normally the mucus drains into the back of their throat and is swallowed. So if they sneeze because of dust in their nostrils sometimes it is a bit wet.
As long as it isn't accompanied by other signs of ill-health, is only occasional and in particularly isn't accompanied by watery eyes, I don't worry.
The best way to monitor a bird's health is by regular weighing using scales accurate to 1 gram. A drop of 5% in weight is a little concerning, a loss of 10% is a quick visit to the vet!
cheers,
Mike

Sneezing, as long as it's not often is normal. If the bird was ill it would be showing other signs, it would probably be more quite then normal for staters. Keep an eye it, and if there are any other signs get it to a vet.

I got worried about Jax sneezing a while back, he was sneezing one after another. I gave him a spritz with some water (which he loved) and he didn't do it again so I figured it was dust etc..
