Hi All I have been on the look out for a shower perch for ages, and they are so expensive to buy ready made. I have been thinking it can't be that hard to make. I looked through this site and found a thread about them, but can't access the pics for some reason - just so I can see what other's have done..... Does anyone have one they have made? If so - have you got pics? Thanks heaps in advance.... Flossy

Those perches are expensive, just like the Jolly Bird Balls! I'm sorry I haven't got one, but if I find a decent pic I'll let you know

they are like a round ball with holes in them which birds can climb in and out of them. Best to google then you'll see a pic. good luck with your project tomorrow, I have to clean I've run out of dishes!

Good luck with the shower thingy, i am sure you will come up with something suitable.
The Jolly Balls are great & last forever. Actually Madaussie made some awhile back. I have 1 for my eckies but they just destroyed all the hanging bits off it. I have been going to take it down & give it to the Hahns i am sure they will get a lot of use out of it. I also have a small one for the Green Cheeks & they love playing in it.
Flossy Parrot Rescue Center sell them for about $70 to $80. Check them out.

I used a suction capped towel rail in my shower. Depending on which bird you want to use it for. The towel rail is great for my little quaker - Jasper, but the big girl has trouble perching on it because she is a little large! And also I think her feet have a lot to do with it.

Oh, and I don't own a jolly ball, but have something that is called a Baffle Ball. They use them in the water tankers to stop the water sloshing around whilst they are driving.

Flossy I bought one not too long ago off ebay. Jump on and search for dickybirdtoys. They have the perch with suction ends, they've worked a treat so far! thinking of getting a couple so Izzy can climb up and down rather than being stuck on the same level.
It wasn't expensive either, Izzy is on the small side of the lorikeets but i still bought the medium sized perch.
...boy is this bird spoilt!
