We have been having some woolly weather in Perth with some of our strongest rain fall in June for many years. Last Friday night was a horrendous, squally night and 60mm of rain in one night. I went outside to check something and noticed both my turks perching on the branch that was mostly exposed to all the wind and rain, all fluffed up getting soaked They have so many branches in the aviary in the sheltered area they could have chosen yet they chose that one, is that normal? They seem OK but I worry that they can catch colds or chills?

Mine do the same sleep out in the weather most of the time. Especially in winter. Must like it because they have plenty of choices.

Birds can't catch a 'cold,' per se, but they could develop an infection if their immune system was lowered. Maybe add some Protexin into their feed to boost their bodies up a bit??
