Glad to hear the move went relatively smoothly. Sorry to hear about the casualty. Was is stress or did it escape?

We have had to move because of the dam upgrade that is happening here. It is only a temporary move, but having said that, they told me it could be anything up to two years. They did their first practice blast yesterday. Happy to report, it didn't affect any of my birds, but the wild ones were going crazy when the blast happened. Bit like they do when a thunderstorm is approaching. Flossy, we had to downsize to move. Just too many birds to move, and too much stress on them to do the move, so it was off to new homes where they will be loved and no blasting! Also we are at a stage in our lives where we would like to get away a bit more often and with the birds it makes it just that bit more challenging. Not many people want to come to your house and birdysit 200 birds. Anzac, lost the poor little finch to stress, and sad to report we have also lost another. Just as well I don't die from stress - 'cause everytime I lose a bird.............. I stress. And John, thanks for the big smiley, I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to see my kings. This poor fella still can't understand why this male won't talk to him.

That pic is adorable Sorry to hear lost another bird. I give the canary aviary a good thorough clean out, scrub walls, change sand etc about 4-6 months and just every now and again I loose one to stress when I catch them or when there is a particularly violent thunderstorm.

Just been and checked on the birds. Well some of the finches seem to be very settled, some of them have started to nest! And from where I sit I can see my ringnecks feeding one another...........................c'mon Spring

So happy everything went to plan. I just love your wildlife. Sometimes i think we miss out on a lot living in the city. Although we do have our resident SC Too's, Rainbow & Scalie Lories. And now a flock of RTB Toos.
y You are so lucky.

I do feel very lucky, and very blessed at the same time. I couldn't wish for a better life. Even though we had to move, I am still in a beautiful spot. And when I finally get to go back to the place we were in before, it will just be even more special.

I've only got these two kings coming to the house so far, I think they are keeping it a secret from all their mates.
