Well another breeding season is upon us. I started a new link for this year. Two female red rumps and a cockatiel have eggs. How is everyone else going?

My canaries are singing up a storm and the argy-bargy has started a bit between the males, nothing too serious though. Now if the poor girls can keep their grass seeds in their own nest without everyone eating it would help

Aww Ellen sorry you had to sell your Scarlets. Congrats John on your impending grandfatherhood. I have 3 x 3 month old female budgies for sale. Have you heard anything about the aviary?

I'm so sorry to hear your news John, life certainly sucks. What terrible news, I know that nothing I can say will make you feel any better. Keep your chin up.

Not to much happening this end. Have had 2 clutches of GCC, just took the last chicks to H/R have orders for them. & baby eclectus in Gypsy's nest. Everything else is either thinking about it or to young.
Although i am not breeding to much my incubator has been running non stop for the last 4 months or so. I have what looks like a fertile Red Tail Black Too egg, it has only been in there for a 4 days. Have manage a 100% success rate in rearing 9 Alex chicks from hatch & 2 RTB Too's. also have 2 female eclectus chicks, all other breeders babies. But that is ok i don't have to find homes for them. Just take them back to their breeder & get paid for my work. ;D
So i don't really mind that i have scaled down on the amount of birds i have & breed. I still get to hand rear for other breeders & that satisfies me.

It's been a bit quiet so far, the weather has been so lousy that the birds must be confused as to whether it is really spring. I have 1 red rump baby who has fledged (mum sitting on a second clutch), lutino English budgie has 3 babies (I'm excited about that first English budgie babies), normal budgie sitting on eggs and a Rainbow Lorikeet sitting on eggs.
Princess Parrot sat on eggs for about 2 weeks but I don't think they were fertile and she has abandoned them.

Well one pair of my canaries did well and have fledged 3 babies, all on perches now and eating seed even though Rocket wasn't their dad he did a stirling job in helping to raise them. Most of the other girls are on eggs but most will probably be clear. Another week or so and I will see if Tilly, my turk's egg will hatch or not, she has laid 4.

That's a good idea Mike. I'll try that in the future. The main reason I didn't think they were fertile is the male wasn't taking any notice of her in the box at all. She was just sitting in there on all her eggs.
