Hi, I have two baby rainbows I am currently hand raising, one of the chicks has very different colouring to the sibling and it's parents. The lime green patch on the back of the neck is mostly red with only a small amount of lime green and the chest is mostly red compared to the siblings yellow and orange chest. Is this a normal variation that will molt out or is it more likely to be a sign of it carrying mutation or hybrid genes? I have attached pics of the baby and the Mum & Dad Lilly & Ernie. Any help would be great Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

There is some Red Collar Lorikeet lurking in the past of one of the parents ! Both parents look pretty normal Rainbows but is there a hint of a couple of red feathers at the front of the green collar of the one on the wire - back from the eye? I used to buy in hand raised Lorikeets when we had our shop that were crosses and had varying amounts of red on the neck - they were lovely birds and used to make great pets. cheers, Mike
