We have a little nutter of a willy wagtail that insists in flying through pur open door into our dining room/kitchen area and eating the daddy long legs ( I leave them up cos I don't mind spiders). I am so worried my cat will be fast asleep in there one day when he flies in. I walked in one day to find him/her perched on the dining room table, he's so brave, while our dog (a greyhound) looked almost terrified of it Do you know if willy wagtails are a protected species? We will be putting our fly screen net up soon so hopefully he can't get in but he oftens hangs out with us on the outdoor setting. Very cute.

In most States all native birds are protected and they can be caught or culled only under license.
Willy Wagtails are really cute little birds, there are a pair next to a lake I walk past each day when walking our dog (Irish Setter) and they know by now she won't bother them and are really tame and let her walk withing a couple of metres of them. When we had our pet shop we also had a pair that would come in the back door of the shop to get insects.
cheers,
Mike
