Sammy is a 20 year old cockatoo that was handed into the Lort Smith Animal Hospital after his owners could no longer care for him. He is very well behaved and is not a bitey bird, however does not like scratches prefers to be petted like a dog. He comes with his own large cage which stands about 5 feet tall and will need a home that he is allowed out a large amount during the day as he gets bored and screams. He has a few phrases of Hello, what you doing, you be quiet now and I think Mac. He will step up onto an arm without issue and happy to hang out on your shoulder or cuddle up next to you on the couch. Loves pets and grapes and this to him is a perfect afternoon, watching TV and eating grapes with his owner. Likes older men (my dad found this one out for up) is not fussed by smaller dogs, cats or rabbits but larger dogs get him all excited and he tries to play with them (not in the nice way!)
He was clipped when he went into the Lort Smith but has since grown his feathers back, he can fly but is not that great at it but I would not under estimate him. Has gotten on well with my smaller birds and not shown an aggression towards them.
He is located in Melbourne and you can PM me or call 0425778174 to set up a time to come and see him. Lort Smith had a $200 adoption fee on him as he came with a full cage but this can be negotiated with the right owner.
