Hi all, what a busy week it has been for me. My new additions; i have got myself 2 breeding pairs of lutinos they are absolutely beautiful i couldn't help myself . The hens are the lutinos and the males are normal/split. I will be putting them to breed next year so fingers crossed. If anyone has any information on these lutinos it would be greatly appreciated, the lady who i bought them off were her husbands birds and hes sadly passed away. regards eileen Attachments:

Lutino Rainbows are really pretty birds - they originated from crossing with lutino Scaly-breasts in the early 1990's, then breeding back to pure Rainbows to breed out the Scaly characteristics while preserving the colour.
With a normal split lutino cock and lutino hen you will get 50/50 normals and lutinos which can be of either sex. The normal sons will be split to lutino and the normal hens will be plain normal - with lutino being a sex-linked mutation they can't be split to lutino.
Care is no different to a normal Rainbow. When it comes to breeding time best to split them into separate flights, and in doing so of course make note of who has paired up with who to ensure best chances of compatibility.
cheers,
Mike
