ringnecks about 22-24 days incubation. Eggs are usually laid every two days, and incubation normally starts after the second or third egg is laid. So you should expect hatching to start around about the 14th November.
cheers,
Mike

Sounds very normal - most males will keep the hen company for some of the time, although mostly they stand guard outside the box. cheers, Mike

It looks like the hen is right on schedule she started laying on or about the 19th and then she has laid an egg every second day, this morning she has three eggs Ill leave her alone now for three or four days and check again for more eggs, she doesn't seem to mind us checking the nest box but I better not push my luck.

John 24 days today and the first chick has hatched, this is my first clutch of Ring neck babies so I am very excited and looking forward the rest of the eggs (4 all told) hatching, the hen is a lutino and the cock is Albino looking forward with interest to the colour of the babies. A question to all you ring neck breeders out there, I know they get a bit touchy and tend to fight a bit at times what is a good time to remove them from the aviary. John

Good to here they have breed for you mine arage3 sometimes 4 but mostly 3 a clutch i pull mine at 2 weeks just the way i have done it if i leave them Any longer now they die
As the hens seem too only feed to the age you pull them and after a few years they get used to the age you pull the chicks that is how it works for me any way i have 12 young left nearly weaned ,And more sitting for there second time round only two pair of mine will go down twice. jjj

A question to all you ring neck breeders out there, I know they get a bit touchy and tend to fight a bit at times what is a good time to remove them from the aviary. John Thats great, hopefully you will get 4 babies. Assuming no splits you should get 4 lutinos, of either sex. That means all babies should have red eyes, and that can be seen even before the eyes open at around 10 days. Any dark eyes will be a different colour, possibly blue and white if the hen is split to blue. Are you going to hand rear - if so take the babies at 14 to 18 days old. At that age they still hav eno feathers so a way to keep them warm will be needed. If you are leaving them to be parent reared then the parents are almost always good parents and the babies can safely be left with the parents for 6 months, but should be removed well before the next breeding season - so around Easter - assuming they are in a reasonable sized flight. cheers, Mike

Thanks John and Mike, another baby this morning so it's looking good at the moment.
John I wasn't aware they could go down more than once so that adds too the excitment and means i will have to get my act together and get another aviary,
Mike, Ill take any colour I get ;D as you know these birds are a whole new experiance for me, I'm not sure whether I am going to hand raise or not and Ill make that decision as the babies get a bit older, sounds like I have a new learning curve coming up with them, at the moment I am just enjoying watching them as they hatch, I do have anothet pair of blues but they are way too young to breed yet, the male hasn't even got his ring yet, come to think of I am not even sure he is a male bird ;D

John I wasn't aware they could go down more than once so that adds too the excitment and means i will have to get my act together and get another aviary, At this time of year it is unlikely they will provide a second clutch, more likely they will start their moult when the babies have fledged. A second clutch is more likely when they breed a bit earlier in the spring, and the babies are taken for hand rearing. cheers, Mike
