That pair should make for some beautiful looking babies. That's the kind of pairing I am hoping to get myself. Good luck with the little ones.

Do they hatch with fluff on them? I wish I knew the secret to breeding GCC, I have 3 pairs but none of them are breeding.

Do they hatch with fluff on them? I wish I knew the secret to breeding GCC, I have 3 pairs but none of them are breeding. Do you have them in separate flights? As with almost all parrots they are much much more likely to breed when housed in separate flights. And the obvious other question is are you certain of the sexes of the "pairs". When I had them the problem was stopping them breeding so if yours are not breeding then there has to be something wrong with how you keep them or with them not being true pairs. Photos of your setups for them would help to sort out why they are not breeding cheers, Mike

Laraine, are they showing any interest in breeding, such as working the box or spending more time in it? Showing any increased signs of aggression to you? The pair that I had were sitting on eggs at this time for the last three seasons.

Hi, an update on how my little ones are going.... Great I have taken the three eldest for h/r, one will be a pineapple the other two will be yellow sided ( split to cinnamon if males). Eileen they are so darn cute.
I took my 3 baby GCC'S out a few days ago. I left it a bit later than usual. Should have taken them a week earlier. They still are very cute. I have 1 cinnamon hen & 2 normals, not sure what they are.

Hi Chris
No they haven't bred, neither have the Cinnamons I bought at the same time. Its a bit disappointing but they are pretty to look at. Lol. They all sleep in their boxes at night and I have seen 2 eggs that get broken almost immediately. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
How are your birds going, are you still into Conures?

Hi Laraine, are you sure they ar ebreaking the eggs and that mice aren't egtting into the box? I have some pairs of crimson bellied conures and they have just shown no interest either, nor have my finches. I think the weather we had during spring was terrible and really through my birds (and garden for that matter) off course. The lovebirds have done well, but by spring I was finishing them up for the year. Hopefully next season, or even just after summer something a bit more interesting will happen here.
