Hello All,
Ive recently put my male Western Pink an Grey of 5 to 6years old in an aviary 3m by 2m by 1.8 heigh and decided to get him a female companion. The female is about 1 to 2 years old.
I've noticed my female is quiet taken by him, and always tries to get close to him for affection or just to be around him but he is always biting her and gives her a little chase.
They've been together for about 2 days now. Is this normal? is he trying to show his dominance. Any advice/tips would be great thanks.

Patience, it can take weeks if not months for true love to develop Just keep a pretty close eye on things though since if he starts to show too much aggression you might need to separate them for a while. When introducing birds such as Galahs I prefer to have them in adjoining flights for a while so they get to know each other with some wire between them - just in case they decide not to like each other! cheers, Mike

Thanks for advice Mike,
I've noticed my male is starting to settle a little bit, she's able to get about 200mm to him before he launches at her, before it was like 1metre.
Hopefully he'll stop. Although I've noticed him biting me a few times since I got the female too so just got to be patient as you say.
