Well Tilly and Billy (my turks) have done well and all 3 babies have left the nest. Boy they are not wrong about so un-co flyers, poor babies crash into overtiring. I suppose I am used to my canaries that just stay on the ground till they are confident flyers. My question is 2 babies are getting their feathers through and are very light coloured and the other one has very distinct blue feathers all over the wing already. Does that mean 2 are females and the 3rd one is probably a male? I know it takes about 2 moults for the males to produce the red on the wing or is this just different colour mutations? Billy is a "standard" turk colouring and Tilly is a red fronted turk (well half her chest area is). Does all this make sense. it's my first lot of turk babies and I'm not very good at bird colour mutations.

You could have 2 females and a male by the sounds of it - the males will get red on their wings by 6 months old.
cheers,
Mike

Thanks as always Mike. I suspected that because the blue is so striking already.
