Hi all
My 3 month old scaly breasted Lori male, has started to lose feathers on top of his head, he's not lacking in nutrition so I don't know what it could be that's causing him to lose these feathers. I'm hoping it might be him losing some baby feathers but they're already all colored on his head so I'm not sure.
If anyone has any thoughts please let me know!
Thank you! Leah.

Hi Leah,
Is he with any other birds? And exactly where is the feather loss? - is there skin showing? Is there any feather loss anywhere else - any loss of wing or tail feathers?
A photo would be great to see to comment further.
Back in December you posted about him seeming lethargic - did he recover from that OK?
cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike
He's an only bird in a large cage, he gets lots of attention, and at the moment it's just his head, but yes slowly I'm starting to see the base of the feathers where it's all grey and it's getting more visible that he is losing those feathers. It's right on the top of his head towards the back.
His tail feathers have grown nice and long, I have noticed one or two lose feathers feathers on the top of his wings, though I thought it was unrelated.
He's lethargy cleared right up and he has been back to normal, I've noticed though that he has been aggressive lately, flying around and when taken ou of the cage is biting lot, but after a while calms down and is gentle.
I'm not sure what's going on, he's had alot of ups and downs since we've had him.

A photo of the area is needed to make any useful comment
The aggression might just be a bit of teenage tantrums that he will grow out of
cheers,
Mike
