We had planned on only having budgies in our aviary. We don't have them yet, but will be getting them in the next week. Today I saw a Bourke's Parrot and I am smitten. Can 1-2 Bourke's live in an aviary with Budgies?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as the aviary is a reasonable size. Just keep an eye on the budgies - some of them are nasty little birds!!
cheers,
Mike

I agree with Mike, I have had experiences with Neophemas being pecked by budgies. But generally they should co-exist.

Thanks for the advice. I guess we are thinking that we will stick to budgies, though I am a little disappointed. That Bourke was a sweet looking bird.
I have feeling our aviary is not big enough. It is only smallish, being just around 1.7 metres long.

I have a bourke that is over 10 years old. He has been in with budgies before, but I always kept a close eye on them. Budgies are notoriously bossy! And even worse when they are breeding.

Thanks, we decided to keep t simple. We have only budgies in the aviary. They're so pretty and sweet
