a macaw hey..........well they would need at least as much room as Yindi to fly around. When he is out of the cage........he spends 99% of that time flying from spot to spot. It is awesome........I do have to watch him very carefully though as he tends to chew anything and everything he can get his big beak onto ......... and even if he is just grabbing it with his beak.........it is so much more damage than any other bird I have owned can do in a few months lol ............. his beak was made for chewing...........I can only imagine a macaw's beak must be at the very least .......... similar

LOL Hi Aimie, You might enjoy looking at a thread I did a while ago about some baby Macaws growing up the we hand raised in the shop - plenty of photos of them as they grew over some 7 pages of posts. Lots of good photos to use to work on your husband with. aussiebirds.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info&action=display&thread=8381Although I will say that a macaw isn't to be taken lightly - big noisy destructive demanding but incredibly "cute" cheers, Mike

Lovely to see you Clara. And of course, lovely to see pics of you Yindi. Do you care if Yindi is a hen or a cock? I'm sure you wouldn't. Either way, you can always buy a mate. I won't tell Stephen

Here he is again taken this morning Oh and this morning he let me rub his head and hold his head cupped in my hands while rubbing my hands around his head.......then he let Caillean do it. I am trying to get him used to having his body manhandled so I can put a harness on him. He lets me kiss him too ;D ......... must admit I was a bit wary of that BIG (massive actually) beak.........but he is ever so gentle with us..........not so with wood though lol .......... I would hate for him to forget our fingers are not wooden

He looks similar to Yindi. Yindi is a Magnificus ........ is that what Freddie is or is he a samuli??

Freddie is a Samuli. He looks a little smaller than Yindi.

no I don't think he has died and gone to heaven lol but he does let me know when he thinks he needs to come out for a fly around lol and when he is out he does fly for 99% of the time and he sits on something panting lol. When I pick him up he sort of sounds like he is whispering to me lol it is very cute. I am also starting to get used to his different calls too now.
