Help please. New to birds. Have had first and only baby grass parrot, about 4-5 weeks old, first time out of the nest box today, very worried re feathers missing around neck. Has it been pecked by parents? is it a mite infection? Other flight feathers are perfect. Still trying to fly, have put it back in the nesting box today as not actually able to fly yet. Any suggestions very welcome. Have great photos but cant seem to attach them to this post. No feathers on head, and only pins around the neck but back and flight feathers normal??

Hi, I would say the parents have plucked the baby. Sometimes happens.
Feathers should grow back in time.

yes I agree with Robyn sounds like the parents have been plucking it. Also sounds like the baby is fledging.......learning to fly.........and they do not fly well at first either Parents also usually continue feeding the babies for a few weeks after the babies start to fledge.
