Im Sad About My Bird

Hey all my name is Kayla, And im very sad about my 18mth old galah as his behaviour towards me has changed considerably and I want to know how to help him go back to the loving bird he always was! Please help me.

- he bites me very hard
- he wont stop once hes started
- hes very naughty when he out or in his cage
- hes nasty to my fiancee and flat mate

It make me so very sad that he has become so naughty and not loving anymore im scared he is not happy and I would hate that also.

we need more information...........how long has this been going on, has anything changed in his environment, what is his diet etc etc.

Initially I thought maybe some sort of metal poisoning? So what type of toys and toy fittings does he have in his cage and even what sort of things does he chew on if outside his cage??

I would be thinking of getting him to a vet to see if he has some sort of metal poisoning if nothing else seems to work or make sense.

I would also say maybe metal posion, there are many reasons for behaviour change as Vankarni said we need more information.

Maybe he is getting to an age too where he doesn't want to share her. My Galah loves only me. He fluffs up and wants to bite my partner every time she is near the aviary. If I am in the aviary with him and she comes around, he will get aggitated and sometimes bite me hard and I have to leave the cage because once he is aggitated, he stays that way for a bit. He will also bite me if my hand is near his food or grass I am giving him for longer than a few seconds. Otherwise, he loves on me and kisses me. Wants me to rub his head and neck all the time. I rescued my bird though so I don't know what he dealt with before me.
I could be way off. It was just a thought.
