Finally, my Baby Congo African Grey!

Hello, Happy to say I just acquired my baby Grey. He is 8 weeks old but not home with me yet. He is still on 3 hand feedings a day. I go in a couple of times a week to hand feed him but I am not sure I want to bring him home on hand feedings too many things might go wrong. Also, he still sleeps in an incubator. He is the funniest bird - clomps when he walks!

I would love to post pictures of my birds and have tried several times. Other people, more savy with computers have tried also but not able to figure it out. I read all the posts under pictures and I think its because I have Windows 7?

My son is coming in for a visit from Hawaii in June perhaps he will be able to figure it out.

At any rate, delighted with my baby Grey.

Congratulations Montana, gald you are finally going to have a Grey - amazing birds. I would suggest leaving him with the breeder for hand rearing but visit as often as possible to socialize and maybe do a bit of hand rearing. That way the breeder can make sure everything is going OK until he is weaned. If you are going to have his wings clipped make sur ehe gets 2 or 3 weeks at least of flying to gain balance and strength. The clumsy Grey stories come from babies that never learnt to fly before being clipped.

Images to the forum have nothing to do with the version of Windows - I use 7, and previously had Vista, then XP.

First thing is to open an account with ImageShack at my.imageshack.us/registration/

Then you can upload your photos into ImageShack - just click on the Browse button after logging into your account - find your file to upload on your computer and click on it then hit "Upload"

After it has uploaded then click on the "my images" tag at the top right of the screen, next to your login name, and thumbnails of all your photos you have uploaded will appear.

Click on the little "i" next to the photo you want to include in your message, and the code will appear that you need to include in your message. Just copy the forum code - with the and [/IMG] before and after the URL. That is pasted into your message and the image will appear in the text of your message.

I am including a photo of my Greys on my shoulder (sorry about that ) and if you reply using "quote" you will see what it looks like in the message I am sending.

Thanks Mike! I went to see the Grey yesterday and hand fed him a little. In just 3 days he is already bigger and more curious. After he eats he wants to sleep. It could be another 3 weeks before he starts to eat on his own. I know the breeder will give him some full flying time but not 3 weeks. Bringing him home without his wings clipped I worry he will get hurt I have lots of windows and a jealous Chiwauwa. I will be going back in a couple of days.
