I just came across pictures of them on an American site. They really are stunning! I was just wondering if they are relatively new or not and if there are many in Australia because any articles or pictures I've found so far are on US sites.

Yes they are in Australia, although I am not sure how common they are. I am including a photo of one I saw in an aviary at Hervey Bay, Qld last year. I believe they have been developed by selective breeding rather than being a true mutation - but however they have arisen they are stunning birds. I have no idea of how common they are in Australia or what they are worth - the bird in the photo is the only one I have seen. I had a quick look on Petlink and didn't see any if that is any guide. cheers, Mike
