Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum so thanks for having me! Two rainbow lorikeets come to my window and yesterday they brought their baby! The baby bird is really cute. I was just wondering, is how he's flying normal, he's just learning to fly and doesn't have beak and feather disease? He is missing the longer tail feathers, but there isn't a stump so it must just be growing. Would love to hear what you think! I took a video of them this morning

I had a look at the video and the baby seems fine - obviously just left the nest, possible on the day you did the video, and flying is a learnt skill, which it is still trying to master. I do think it probably left the nest a few days before it should have, accounting perhaps for it's tentative attempts at flying.
He doesn't show any signs of Beak & Feather - if they have that they have lost flight feathers by the time they try to leave the nest and then fall to the ground unable to fly at all.
His flight feathers look normal, as does his tail.
cheers,
Mike

Hi and Welcome. Sorry I can't view videos (dial up just too slow to download much at all), but given what Mike said, all sounds good. And I always believe in letting nature take its own course, but having said that, it is very kind of you to care
