Welcome Kani, hopehyou enjoy and get useful information from the Forum. Ringnecks can be great birds, but they can also be terrors - and to some extent as babies it is difficult to know what to expect in 6 or 12 months time. However with good care and the right approach to training they can usually turn out just fine. Don't worry so much about colour - go for the one that is most friendly and confident - the best personality. In the long run personality and temperament is way ahead of colour when choosing a baby. I've bred and hand raised many ringneck babies - hundreds - and have three young yellows at present just taking their first flights. We have had their parents as house pets for around 20 years, and they are still lovely tame birds that always produce lovely babies - photo of Sasha, their father, is below. I've bred other ringnecks that in spite of all the care possible, just didn't want to be a pet bird and although hand raised had to go to an aviary. Have a look at the following two links - the first is about ringneck bluffing - a stage that most ringnecks go through and being forewarned will enable you to better cope wit it when it happens to your sweet little baby. The second is a copy of the hand out I used to give to all our customers when I used to have a pet shop - lots of good advice for the first time bird owner. www.indianringneck.com/bluffing/scas.org.au/html/pet_parrot_care.htmlAnd don't forget, any questions you have be sure to ask away - there are no silly questions cheers, Mike Sasha lying on his backSasha and Jello making sure their babies have had enough food after being hand fed by me
