Hi Crissy, welcome to the forum. There are many knowledgable people here who will be able to give you sound advise as you get going with your avairy. I don't get magpies here but I do have currawongs. One would come into my yard every morning at about 6.30 and grab some dog food. I never knew that they ate kibble Anyway I then started to leave a bit of mince meat for it and sure enough in a few weeks it brought it's three babies to visit. They used to sit on the clothes line or in the tree. The mother would come down for her breakfast and then promptly feed her young brood on the clothes line. The female would allow me to get within maybe two metres of her - usually after I left the food for her and then waited for her to retrieve it. I presume that the little ones have left home as I haven't seen them for a few weeks now. Hopefully I will see them again next spring.
