Hi all, We've lived in Southern Qld for 50 years and haven't ever caught glimpse of one of these on the property before. It has been very tame, keeping very close to the house and even takes dips in our pool. Any idea what it may be? Many thanks Rod Attachments:

It is a Buff-banded Rail - most commonly seen near dawn and dusk and sheltering in dense vegetation through the day.
cheers,
Mike
