I have a question. If a young Superb Parrot couple have bred once and the male dies, will the female take up with another young male?

Usually yes - it might take a little while before she accepts him but by the time the hormones start up next spring there should be no problem. And it doesn't have to be a young male - any age will be OK, in fact an older male may be more acceptable, and also be more successful at breeding.
The only potential problem is that she simply doesn't like him - they don't always like all members of the opposite sex. She will be quite happy to get another mate, just sometimes they can be fussy about who that mate is.
cheers,
Mike
