Good day to you,
Having recently bought short beak corella, I'm unsure if it is a wise idea to try to get him used to a halter type lead specially made for birds and I plan on having him with me on most of my outings.
Does anyone have any suggestions or have they tried to or are currently doing this with their bird?
What are some pro's and con's?
Thank you! Your feedback will be much appreciated.

If the bird is a baby then it should be possible to get it used to a harness, although Short-billed Corellas can be pretty strong willed. If it is an older bird then probably forget it - generally only a young Corella can be trained to accept a harness.
The pros are that you can take the bird outside safely without fear of it getting spooked and flying off. Basically without a harness it isn't safe to take a bird outside. There are no real cons as long as the bird is happy wearing the harness.
cheers,
Mike
