I have a baby Lorikeet (my first one) but it is about 7 weeks old and it's not looking like fledging any time soon. What age do they fledge and when are they self sufficient.

Rainbows normally fledge in around 8 to 9 weeks and then are independent after a further couple of weeks. When I am hand raising them I don't expect them to be ready to sell until 12 weeks old.
cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike for your good advice as usual. It will be 8weeks on Tuesday. I thought there must have been something wrong with it. It certainly makes a ruckas when I open the lid to look at it.
