Hi everyone! My name's Rachael and I'm new here. I have what looks to be a juvenile crested pigeon whom I found on my green bin yesterday. He wasn't moving at all, even when approached and touched so I popped him in a box with a towel, some water and some wild bird seed. He seems light to me but I haven't been able to weigh him to know for sure. I can't see any injuries or punctures, his wings and legs are fine and he seems clean. My biggest worry is that he doesn't seem to feed or water himself, I left him overnight with the hope he'd figure it out but no such luck. This morning I finally got him to drink some water with a dropper but I'm having no luck at all with the seed, he won't even open his beak. Advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum
The best solution is to contact your local wildlife rescue people who will likely have someone experienced with dealing with young pigeons - which can be a major challenge to feed when very young and weak. Basically for a few days he will likely need some bird hand rearing mix fed to him via a tube pushed down his throat!!! Not an exercise for the inexperienced.
Your local vet surgeries may be able to advise of a contact or if you tell us where you live someone here might be able to assist.
cheers
Mike

How did you go with the pigeon? I found a juvenile on the raod last week and have managed to get him happy and healthy. If I can move him from hand feeding to seed I'll try and release him. I'm no expert, but I can pass on what ihave don and perhaps it will help.
