Hey guys,
I have been giving what seems to be a mature rainbow lorikeet about a month ago. He is incredibly hostile and refuses to settle in my company. First question is would it be possible to tame him, secondly what would be the best method. I have heard that you can't train male loris but surely that can't be true

I know you can tame them (My firend has one ;D ) she has trained him as well, but I don't know about taming the adult ones (My friends' one was young...)

If it is a mature Rainbow then taming it will be very difficult - made especially so by that VERY sharp beak which they are not afraid to use.
Male Rainbows are perfectly capable of being good pet birds - possibly even more so than females. However that is if they are either young, still with a dark beak, or preferably hand raised. Taming a mature Rainbow, either male or female, is not for the faint-hearted, and preferably someone with a good stock of bandaids.
cheers,
Mike

I love Lorikeets. They are so colourful. I love to watch them. Lorikeets are very smart birds.
