Can someone tell me if breeding a splendid male and a turquoisene female would give me mules or hybrids?

A mule is a hybrid so you will have a hybrid. Some bird hybrids are fertile - Rainbow and Scaly Lorikeets for instance - while others are infertile, including Turquoisines and Scarlet-chests. So you will get an infertile hybrid.
It is easy enough to tell that the male is a hybrid but almost impossible to tell the female is a hybrid. Female pure Turks and Scarlets are difficult enough to tell apart, never mind the hybrid females. One reason that beginner breeders of these species can never get fertile eggs is that they have been sold a hybrid female.
cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike. What would the offspring look like more- the scarlet breasted female turq or the splendid male?
