Would it be safe to raise 2 male cockatiels together in the same cage,or at least be able to expect them to get along if they are around each other a lot? I plan on getting a second hand-raised male cockatiel and will be getting a seperate cage to house him in for right now. I have always had the females and am inexperienced with this.

Generally it wont be a problem, two males will usually coexist without problems in the absence of a female in with them. Sometimes there will be a bit of an argument, but nothing serious and no damage done. Quite often they will end up the best of friends.
As is often the case, it is only when a potential mate appears that things can get a bit heated, but I have never had cockatiels cause harm to each other.
A separate cage initially is a good idea, so that they can get used to each other on neutral ground, but it should be possible to house them together after a while provided the cage is big enough for two.
cheers,
Mike
