Hi all, i just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Bek, I am 38 and have just got myself a Hand reared rainbow Lorikeet. I have had her a few days now. I am sure I will be having many questions coming your way soon. A few are popping up already and will ask away shortly, I am giving the baby girl a few days to settle in and time for me to work her out and her actions and motions. Thanks

Hi Bek and welcome to the Forum. Hopefully we will be able to help with any questions that arise with your Rainbow. Rainbows are amazing birds - never boring, but sometimes a bit of a challenge to cope with due to their hyper active approach to life. One of the frequent issues is that they can go through a nippy stage, and with their needle sharp beak that is not a pleasant experience. There is a good article about this at tinyurl.com/858vtab This article is from my old shop web site and while that web site is no longer directly available, it is still to be found at the web archive - where the link takes you. Well worth a good read so you are prepared in case it happens with your girl - and I might add I think it is more likely with male than female Rainbows. cheers, Mike
