Hi everyone I'm new and I was wondering if anyone would be able to offer a loving home to a male Sulpher Crested Cockatoo. I live Melbourne and in January this beautiful Cockatoo landed at my house very hungry and thirsty. He talks and not a lot he can't say. I have tried to find his owner on all the bird sites but had no luck. The pound had no provision for him so we minded him for the 8 days and I asked the RSPCA but they told me they wouldn't take him so gave me numbers of a couple of wild life carers. They told me they would not mix a wild bird with one that had been in captivity. We had no option but to keep 'Mr. Bird'. I asked the neighbors if they had objections and they said no. Thing is he is a bird that needs to come out of the cage for a cuddle and I have cats and dogs so it is impossible. Now he screeches as he wants out and the neighbors are complaining. Someone let him out but I managed to get him back through the lost pets directory but he needs a home where he can either have an aviary to fly in or get cuddles and human contact which he craves. I contacted the Avicultural Society but they said they could not help me. He's a beautiful bird but needs an owner that can provide more than what I can. We have researched all the right foods to feed him and do the best we can. Any help would be very much appreciated.
