Hi,
I've placed a similar thread in the Buy, Swap Sell section. Apologies for the double up but I'm hoping for a quick reply.
First a little background. I am an aviculturist of many years having had and bred a variety of finches and parrots. I'm coming up to retirement later this year (August) and intend to change and expand my aviaries and variety of birds as I'll have a lot more time to spend with them. I'm currently building a new complex of 5 breeding flights which will be ready for this year's breeding season. The flights I'm building are 2.4M long with an additional 1.0M suspended section. They are 2.2M high and 1.0M wide and have an insulated roof. At the moment, I have Crimson Wings, 2 pair of Princess, Western Rosellas, Lineolated parrots, some Bourkes, Elegants and Turquoisines.
I'm really looking to find two pairs of Caiques. I'm after a pair of White Bellied and a pair of Black Headed that are reasonably mature and would be ready for breeding if not this coming season, then next year. I would prefer to find a breeder in or close to Melbourne rather than have them shipped from interstate.
So, if anyone can assist with a contact for the Caiques, Melbourne or otherwise, it would really be appreciated.
Thanks, Frank

Maybe keep an eye on Petlink - www.petlink.com.au - a pair in Brisbane just sold on there for $3500. I have seen occasional ads there in the past. Gumtree also has them advertised sometimes. And then there is the magazines - Aviary Life and Australian Birdkeeper. cheers, Mike

Thanks Mike.
Yep, I'm aware of both Gumtree and Petlink plus a couple of other bird sale sites. I'll keep looking - doesn't seem to be too many around.
