Hi All,
I use to be on this forum years ago but have not been back in ages so had to make a new username.
I am now running a rescue called Simply Better Birds in Melbourne Victoria. We take in birds that need to be re homed and work on that. I take on birds free of charge (no surrender fee) and then we do all the vet work, work on behavioral issues they might have and work out which environment would suit them best before adopting them out. We run a facebook page Simply Better Birds
At the moment there are two full time staff members (all on a volunteer base) and we have a range of foster carers who help when we have large amounts of birds come in.
All adoptions have a cost and also there is an adoption agreement that has to be signed. I am working with the RSPCA and they are now handing over domesticated bird to me rather then have them put down. We have also worked with the PRC to help re locate birds in Victoria.
At the moment we are doing a fundraising drive as a company has come and said that they will supply us with 9 stack able cages and a 4 cage set that can be opened up to one big cage or divided to make 2, 3 or 4 smaller cages for $1400 delivered (over $1000 saving) all donations can be made here Fund Raising Link
