Hi! About 6 years ago I was given a baby rainbow lorikeet for my birthday and her name was Lockie, a few months ago we decided to get another lorikeet and Her name is Lorraine, after doing the proper introductions they eventually were put in the same cage and were friends, a few weeks later we noticed my older bird Lockie was not really eating and acting lethargic, wouldn't talk, come near you etc. this behaviour was very strange and out of character for her as she was very active and talkative, a week later Lockie passed away. A few weeks ago we got another young bird to accompany Lorraine and this birds name is beau, after the correct introductions we placed them in the same cage and they wouldn't leave each other's side and get on well together! However a few days ago my dad and I noticed that beau is showing the same symptoms that Lockie was, sleeping all the time, closing her eyes, sitting at the bottom of the cage, we are now worried that the same thing will happen to beau. I also want to mention that Lorraine is perfectly fine and active, two birds showing the same symptoms is not a coincidence, is it possible that Lorraine is carrying something however is not effected by it herself ? Any feedback would be much appreciated, Thankyou !
