Hello all, I found a young lorrie in the street about to be run over. It appeared to be very young, half the beak still black, no tail feathers. I don't know much about birds, so thought that was only due to it being young. Took it home and my wife cared for it , fed it some green seedless grapes - juices. Very tame and cuddly. The next day taking a closer look at it, I saw the main wing feathers clipped to about a third of normal length. So obviously someone pulled its tail feathers and clipped the wings. They either found they couldn't care for it or it got away from from them, since we found it can fly little distances, although its landings are pityful. we've been feeding it since with wet'n'dry food that it laps up and can help himself to from a little container, but doesn't care for water It seems to be very handy climbing curtain edges upward and is very comfortable with us. I did buy a cage for it for its own safety, and when we're not around to watch it, but is really very active trying to get out, and wants to go to our (1st floor) balcony glass door. I'm in a bit of a quandrum what to do with this bird. Obviously I can't let it go, it would never survive with the feral cats around here. Are there any suggestions out there with you people, what I could do, or indeed how to care for it? Once it finds its way out, it will almost surely get off the balcony, to its detriment. Bob
