Hey,
It's been windy the last few days where I live and today I found a parrot just sitting on the footpath. Looking a bit dazed. I picked him up, he didn't bite just looked up at me. He gripped onto my shirt. I tried to give him water but didn't want it. So I gound a quiet spot out of the way and perched him on my finger. He sat for a minute and flew off. Now I'm worried he might have been someone's pet cause he didn't bite. Or maybe he was just knocked out of the tree with all this wind. My question is: could he have been someone's pet? Feeling mixed emotions right now.

If it was a rainbow lorikeet, then chances are it was a wild bird. Rainbows are Austalias friendliest native animal and as a result many of them have close encounters with humans. they are regulars in Australian gardens and Feeding boxes. Many of them are very used to human contact. How lucky we are in this country to be blessed with such an abundance of gorgeous birds.
I once found a Raven attacking a lorrikeet in my backyard - I ran to scare it off and while the raven took flight, the lorikeet flew straight to me.
