Hi all, I've just this forum site and hope to find it a great use. I bought a male Australian King Parrot from a private breeder on the Gold Coast July 2015. The seller had him caged with the breeding pair of King's and also with a few Princess Parrots. He also had several species of finches and a few Lorikeets (rainbows and and a scaly-breasted) in separate aviaries. I assume they were because they'd possibly not all get along. I want to welcome Eddie (my lovely 3 year old King Parrot) to a friend. It's a fact that some species of birds and even with parrots do not get along. I'm just wondering if anyone has have had experience or has knowledge of King Parrots kept with other birds? I've read somewhere that Budgerigars do not behave well? A list of possible friend candidates are below: - Cockatiel
- Princess Parrot
- Australian Ringneck
- Rosella (thinking either Crimson or Eastern)
- Bourke's Parrot
- Red-caped Parrot
- Red-winged Parrot
- Superb Parrot
- Regent Parrot
- Purple-crowned Lorikeet
- Double-eyed Fig Parrot
If you've housed a parrot with a King Parrot with other parrots before please help me with knowing your experience/s. Cheers,
Squawker
