Hi, I recently purchased a hand raised princess parrot. I think it's about 4-5 months old. Being a first time owner I have TONS of questions (I wont ask them all today) So far my bird is doing very well. He/she is cheeky and has big personality. I have struggled introducing new food up until today as he/she seemed VERY fussy. Loved sweet pepper (only red) pasta and I would share a little crumpet with it. I discovered today however that if I put a ceramic bowl (same as what I eat out of) in it's cage with a variety of new foods it had a wonderful time "playing" in it and trying the foods. Seems it likes new food to be fun. As yet my parrot wont allow me to touch it apart from light scratches on the beak and will not climb onto my hand so I have been reluctant to let it out of the cage as I'm worried it wont want to go back in and would traumatize it trying to catch it. What are your recommendations on letting it out? Any other hints/tips on bonding with my bird, feeding or just general advice would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to chatting with you guys Karen Read more: aussiebirds.proboards.com/thread/12220/forum-first-princess-parrot-owner#ixzz4bXcTHdLy
