Hi, I am new to bird keeping and have got a 1 year old short billed corella. It lives in a very large aviary. My problem is that if my hand gets within its reach it will bite me (and it hurts a lot)!!!!! He doesnt seem scared of me as he doesnt cower or fly away. He seems lovely util i put my hand near him as he puffs his feathers out. Im trying to hand tame him but i really dont want to get bitten cause it hurts so bad! Its hard using gloves or aything like that to get near him because gloves seem to be his mortal enemy. He flys away as soon as he sees them. How can I tame him so he is comfortable with my hand/arm without (if possible) him biting me? He doesnt step up or anything like that. How can I tame him??
