Alf is a hand raised Galah about 3 years old. He lives solo in a very large aviary with plenty of flying room. The intention was to get compatible companions but the aviary needs some upkeep done. Up until a month ago Alf was very, very active, noisey, immediately jump on my shoulder etc, responsive to outside bird visits, performing gymnastics on swings and destroying perches as quick as I made them. Now he sits quietly in the back of the aviary, doesn't come to me, appears frightened, unresponsive to other galah and bird visits. I've observed no changes to his droppings, appetite ok, no apparent change to feathers or physical features. Not aware of a local vet specialising in birds on the Central Coast (Gosford area). Any ideas what is wrong?
