I am stuck. I have had my beautiful Quaker parrot for about 8 years now. He is not really tame for handling, but is hilarious and cute and loves to chat. I moved to Sydney with my fiance and got a job, and a year later the relationship ended, we had to break our rental lease and I had to find somewhere else to live. Luckily I had a friend who was also looking and loves bird so was willing to put up with the noise. Now she is going to have to break the lease due to personal circumstances, about 7 months into our year long lease. I'm back to square one and am seriously considering giving up my Quaker. I can't afford a place on my own in Sydney. It's practically impossible to share with someone with the amount of noise the bird makes (and I'm not a good sharer anyway lol). It's also hard to find rentals (I can only afford apartments) that will allow birds. I'm mentally exhausted and can't afford to keep moving, or to stay where I am on my own. Any suggestions? If I do give him up, I want him to go to a good home.
