Hello, I recently got a lovely hand reared Princess Parrot. I have owned cockatiels before, this is my first Princess. Someone recently commented on the unusual pied markings on his feathers and wondered if he is suffering from a deficiency. He acts very healthy, and I feed him a varied diet of seed, fresh vegetables and fruits. His feathers are soft and strong, and not oily or dry. I am wondering if I should take him to an avian veterinarian, or if it is just some genetic mutation - I'll attach a picture of him showing the feathers in question (I don't know that he is a 'he' because he is still a baby, but out of convenience I chose a pronoun  ) Sorry about the quality of the photo, I had to resize the file to fit it in the post.
