Hi all
I am interested in buying a BABY cocky, would prefer sulphur or major but will also take a galah.
I am awaiting a sulphur baby from qld that isnt quite completely feathered.. I would like to get a friend for him so they can grow up together..
I bought a bird from a guy in WA in May... paid out a total of $3000 and the bird apparently died from stress or and shock just before freight was meant to happen, he said there was no refund and buying the bird was at my risk, once i paid for it.. I dont know if the bird even existed...
So I dont want anyone thinking they can rip ne off again, if I pay money I want a bird.. I want guarrantee that it will be sent... once in MY possession it is totally my responsibilty.
If you have anything let me know.. and how much and when it would be ready...
Carole

OMG you have to be kidding..This is so wrong..Where abouts are you any ways..I know a few breeders in QLD that could have some too's or eggs at this time..What type of bird was it for $3,000..You have to be very careful when buying from the net..Always ask people if they know this person before you buy from them..Or ask if any one know's some one they can trust..

It was a baby black cockatoo. he said it was feathered and had started cracking seed (?) apparently the long road trip to the airport in perth stressed it out and it died. It just became to easy for him to say that and go ahead and sell it again, some people have asked me about the guy, I gave them his name and they say he has done the same thing in the past, that he doesnt have the birds he advertises... I think a good thing to do is when people buy a bird and they have received it, and the breeder has been helpful and the bird is healthy maybe in their signature on forums they can put..."successful trade with........" and at least we will see who has got good feedback, it would definately help me make a choice in which breeder to go with. I just want some cockatoos.. ANY kind! I love em...

Yes there are a few out there that do this..I think it is very hard to put peoples names as you have said. What can happen is people will see these name here..They will say yep thats me..What you are better to do is ask a few people before you buy from them..Better still try and pick the bird up your self.

Hi Carole, I have a friend here that has many contacts with good bird breeders here in Adelaide through the bird clubs that he is in. I can ask him if he knows of anyone selling any h/reared sulphers, majors or galahs here in Adelaide, if you are interested. Cheers Anna

Geez, Louise, thats insane, what type of black cockatoo was it for $3000? ? I paid $2000 for my red-tail black cockatoo and he is the north queensland sub species calyptorhynchus banksii, which is the biggest of the red-tailed species. I know its alot of money to spend again (especially since you have been ripped of once before) but i would re-consider getting a red-tail. My redtail kai is the best money i EVER spent, he is 2 next march and i couldnt live without him. What i love about handraised redtails is that they dont BITE, EVER, kai has never bitten any one, they just arnt agressive natured birds. Where as galahs, sulfers and corellas tend to be a bit bitey (I AM NOT SAYING THEY ALL ARE, i personally just think they have more of a tendancy to bite) I know an excellent breeder in Gympie QLD, there redtailed black cockatoo pairs breed like chooks, they always have babies and they have an excellent reputation for having quality handraised birds. I have been to there house myself and i was very impressed. The day i went there was my birthday and kai had just hatched that morning, i knew i had to have him!!!!!!!! If you want there contact details, just send me and email and i will be happy to pass them on. lavinniafiedler@hotmail.com
