We have quite a few down here in SA, problem is most arent sexed. Are you after a hand-reared? because my mum-in law's are still breeding (they apparently do all year) but I just dont have the time to hand-rear myself at the moment and its harder to find H/R. We have both Cinnamon and Green, but they are interbreeding, so its pot luck at the moment lol.
I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I find anything in pet stores

Thanks Guinevere, Right now it doesn't matter if he is H/R or not.... she just needs a boyfriend. It is very difficult to find a Handraised one so I've given up on that and figure if They are with eachother he will get use to her comming out LOL. As my ad says any mutation as long as I can afford it (ie no yellows cause I've been quoted $5000 for one!)

$5000  but I guess for a mutation its reasonable!! we just have your average kakarikis. Are you willing to wait for a month or so? cos we have two babies in a nest at the moment. I'll go in on the weekend and suss them out. I'm looking after some baby quails atm, but they should be ready to go back into the aviary soon, which will freeup s bit of time and space. So if you still want one, ill hand tame them once they get to about 5 weeks old(currently 3 weeks old approx.) and fingers crossed one of them is male. So let me know, and I'll go check out the situation in the nest box |

I will definately let you know. I gave my number to a Guy today that apparantly has one for sale. He wants $100 for a normal male!!! Not H/R or nothing... not holding my breath for a phone call but he said he would  I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon if I heard anything! If not then I will go with you |

Well I have one...a big red fronted Male. Aviary bird so he isn't too tame but will hopefully settle down. If you do decide to raise one from the nest though let me know. They make the most wonderful pet birds and I'd love another one. H/R Kakariki's are very hard to find!

Glad to hear you finally got one. I think with a bit of work he should tame down quite well, our avairy kakarikis arent even scared of me and even come up quite close when im giving them their fruit and veggies. They really are great birds.
Will definetly let you know if I H/R one in the future, cos its good to know when they are going to a loving home.
Is your new addition Green or cinnamon??

My new little man is a green...I wouldn't mind getting some other pairs in the future. Pepper has been so excited she has learnt how to open doors LOL He is at least twice the size of her, maybe more. Now I need to think of a name.....LOL
